Thumb drive for the SK2 and SKX

I use a thumb drive to save all of my settings and custom tone wheels.  I’ve tried a few different thumb drives with my SK organs.  A bunch of them seemed like they were working, then started to glitch after a few weeks.  Several of them got completely fried while I was trying to use them.

But these work great:

Verbatim 16GB Store ‘n’ Stay Nano USB 3.0 Flash Drive

In December ’22, they are $6.99 on Amazon.  16GB should be way more space than you will ever need.  Since they are small, they can just remain installed in the back of your keyboard.

I also keep another one with identical data duct taped to the bottom of the keyboard, as a safety backup.  And a third in my gig bag.

If you think it’s neurotic of me to have 2 backup USB drives, ask me about the time my keyboard glitched and I had to play a gig using the factory settings.  What a nightmare!
